The Marconi ARI,18228 Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) was housed in a rectangular box fairing at the top of the fin. FG.1 and FGR.2 Phantoms that transferred to the air defence role were to receive this upgrade. Royal Navy Phantoms of 892 squadron were the first to receive the new modified fin starting in 1973.
Aftermarket 144122 is the replacement fin that originally intended to upgrade kit number 144024.
The enclosed decal allows two choices of red/white/blue radome flashes.

2) 1978 HMS Ark Royal final cruise flash, superimposed with 892 squadron crest.
This upgrade can also be used in conjunction with kit 144025 FIN ONLY.
